The private garden of 1.2 hectares (2.9 acres) is open lawn on a gentle slope. There are numerous chairs, seats, and sunloungers to make maximum use of the sun and shady areas.

If you are an early riser you might see deer roaming around at the top of the garden.

It is extremely peaceful and tranquil with very little light pollution at night, making it perfect for stargazing on clear evenings.

Relax with a good book and maybe a glass of wine as you enjoy the quiet ambience and top up your sun tan.

We are giving back to nature here at Gites Gloret. We have decided to leave 1/3 of our garden ‘uncut & natural’ to help to support the local bird, insect and wildlife population. We have many different species of birds & insects that visit & hope to see many more!

The Deer, Rabbits, Hares & Squirrels that come to see us already seem to enjoy hiding in the longer grass so you will have to keep a good watch out for them! You can sometimes see Bats flitting about around the trees at dusk.

The benefits of reducing or eliminating mowing are numerous. It provides shelter, food and breeding ground for a variety of wildlife and critical habitat for pollinators.

Long grass has lots of benefits for wildlife. It is a mini jungle, moist and sheltered at its base, producing abundant flowers, pollen and seeds. Beetles, caterpillars of various moths and butterflies, grasshoppers – they all benefit, and so then do birds, bats, hedgehogs and others.
